Your Security is Our Top Priority

At Walden Savings Bank the security of our customer’s data and information is extremely important to us. Here we'll share a number of resources and tools for our customers to take advantage of to help protect you and your personal information.

ATM Security

When using our ATM machines, you may notice a few changes. Not only have we added the latest in physical security with high tech card readers but, other measures and technology have been added to ensure our customer's infomation is secure.

Our team inspects our ATM machines diligently but, we also want you to be aware of the many types of skimming attempts that face the public, no matter what ATM you may be using.

 Know what to look for...

Cameras-Often a concealed camera is used to record people entering their PIN into the keypad. At an ATM, these could be hidden somewhere on the front of the machine, for instance, on the top of the screen, or around the bezel of the video screen. To capture images at other terminals, thieves might use a nearby light fixture, brochure rack, or pole. Always keep a hand over the keyboard as you enter your PIN, to prevent a camera from seeing the exact digits you enter.

Card Reader Device- This type of device can be difficult to spot as it blends in with the machine it is installed on. Often they may look very similar to the original card reader in color and texture - even fitting right over top of or inside of the original card reader. Pay close attention to what the reader looks like. Giving it a slight pull will usually cause the device to fall off. Any parts found on an ATM that appear loose or out of place should be considered suspicious.

Keypad Overlay- Sometimes a fake keypad is used to capture entered PINs. Be on the lookout for the keypads sticking up/out from the surface around it, or for colors that don't match the rest of the ATM.
