Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Walden Savings Bank moving to dot Bank?"
Just about anyone can acquire a "dot com" website address. So basically, online criminals can create 'spoof' websites and email addresses that can fool people into giving away personal information.
A few years ago an alliance of banks, insurance companies and financial services trade associations came together to create the "dot Bank" URL. These URLs are only available to these organizations and require an extensive verification prior to purchase.
We are pleased to be one of the first banks in the Hudson Valley to make the move to this new secure domain.
Will WaldenSavingsBank.com still work?
Yes, the current address will still work but visitors to the old website will automatically be redirected to the new domain and website. If you do have the old site address in your Favorites or Bookmarks, please update to WaldenSavings.BANK for your own convenience.
Does the move to "dot Bank" change my online Banking login?
No. Please continue to use the same username and password. Users may need to register their computer during their first visit to online banking via our new website.
What browser requirements are recommended for the new WaldenSavings.BANK website?
Our new website has been optimized to work on desktop and laptop computers with the latest two major versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer- IE 11 and IE Edge. Additionally, the latest two versions of Firefox (Windows & Mac), Google Chrome (Windows & Mac) and Safari (Mac) are recommended for the best experience. For mobile and tablet users a minimum of version 8 iOS Safari or the latest two versions of Android Lollipop and Marshmallow are recommended.
Why is .BANK more secure than .COM?
Recognized as the global platform for the financial services industry, .BANK sites require advanced encryption methods to ensure the highest level of security. With increased security methods, a .BANK domain helps prevent users from being redirected to fake bank websites and makes it more difficult for criminals to phish or create spoof emails.
