WALDEN SAVINGS BANK APPOINTS MISSION-ORIENTED ATTORNEY AND COMMUNITY ADVOCATE TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Walden Savings Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcia A. Jacobowitz, Esq. to its Board of Directors.  Jacobowitz brings more than 30 years of legal experience and a proven track record of success in both the private and nonprofit sectors.

A dedicated mission-oriented leader, Jacobowitz has a passion for making a positive impact on her community. She founded several not-for-profits, including primary healthcare and community organizations, and serves on numerous boards and committees. She was most recently appointed as a Board of Director to the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan County. Her expertise includes business operations and law, grant writing, financial oversight, and real estate development. Notably, she was the key founder of the Wallkill Valley Health Center in Walden, NY, now part of Sun River Health.

As a partner at Jacobowitz & Associates Law Firm, LLP, Jacobowitz specializes in real estate and land use law, representing commercial and industrial land developers, lenders, and clients. For almost a decade, she has served as one of the commercial closing attorneys for Walden Savings Bank.

In addition to her legal practice, Jacobowitz has extensive experience in project management. Most recently, she served as a project consultant for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, acting as the liaison between the land owner, general contractor, architect, and engineer during the construction of a 40,000-square-foot food distribution and office facility in Montgomery.

"Marcia Jacobowitz's deep commitment to supporting the critical needs of our region and her extensive legal experience will be invaluable to our Board of Directors," said Derrik Wynkoop, Walden Savings Bank President and CEO. "We are confident that her leadership will help us to continue to grow and prosper while making a positive difference in the lives of our customers and our community."

Marcia lives in Montgomery with her husband Bryan and daughters Mira and Leah.
